Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello is simply gorgeous. At the end of Thomas Jefferson’s life, the house and grounds had fallen into disrepair, subsequent owners have invested considerable money to restore and preserve it. Now owned by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, it is operated as a museum and educational institution.

I found it really interesting that Jefferson, who was such a proponent of freedom for all men and the principle author of the Declaration of Independence, also owned slaves. It seems that his thoughts and writings were headed in the right direction, but his actions weren’t quite in sync with those beliefs.

When I’m struggling with changing my behavior, I like to find ways to imagine myself in the other persons shoes. So for example, If my dad hit me and chained me up, I’d be really angry, even if he told everybody he knew i didn’t deserve it. I don’t know about you, bit it seems like an easy choice to me.

Hope you like movie, it was really amazing to go there. I learned so much and had a ton of fun running back down the hill.

Love, Bella
