I found Shelter Island when I was visiting New York State, then I found this hotel and OMG it was terrific. If you have never experienced the lazy days of a New England summer, you need to stay here. This historic summer house wraps you in comfy, cozy, beach cottage charm. White washed wood framed walls set the backdrop for charming antiques and cozy renovated bathrooms. A stay in the Summer House is imbued with a taste of days gone-by, when cozy summer houses were cooled by soft summer breezes and embodied a slower, simpler way of life.
The restaurant was incredible and the staff was perfect and so welcoming. The bed was the best, it just sucked me in and I didn’t wake up till I smelled breakfast cooking in the kitchen downstairs. If you’re looking for a get-a-way weekend or a romantic holiday, this is it.
The tranquil setting, the helpful staff, the luxury bedding and towels, plus the food which is just amazing all adds up to a full 4 paws up from me. One of the best for sure, it’s Bella approved. Give it a try!
