Today I went to Arlington National Cemetery, just outside of Washington D.C. I thought it was really appropriate for Veteran’s Day this year. Americas veterans sacrifice so much to make the world a safer place. Often times their live’s are changed forever, some even make the ultimate sacrifice.

Veterans Day is an official United States federal holiday that is observed annually on November 11, honoring people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans.

U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed November 11, 1919, to be known as Armistice Day. In proclaiming the holiday, he said it was to be “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace. Congress amended the name on June 1, 1954, replacing “Armistice” with “Veterans,” and it has been known as Veterans Day ever since.

From the bottom of my furry little heart, I want to thank all U.S. veterans for the selfless sacrifices they make for America. I am so grateful to all of you who give up so much so that a little dog like me can live in a country where I feel free to express myself without fear of being tossed in a kennel and locked away.

Love, Bella
